AN UNUSUAL calm fell over Phoenix this morning ahead of the planned March and March protests.
Most of the streets were deserted and some businesses operated as normal while others, like tuckshops remained closed.
The POST travelled through Bhambayi, Mambha, Brookdale, Palmview, Trenance Park, Rydalvale, JG Champion, Phoenix Highway and Phoenix Plaza, where shoppers continued with their daily routines and stores remained open.
The usually busy roads were noticeably quieter than normal.
