To be competitive for a postdoc abroad, build skills in Molecular Phylogenetics (DNA extraction, NGS, RAxML, BEAST), GIS and Remote Sensing (QGIS, ArcGIS), and R Programming. Identify a professor whose research aligns with yours and approach them with a tailored proposal. Funding agencies such as JSPS, Marie Curie, and Fulbright often require a host supervisor before application.
