“The Command is fully aware of the recent cult-related killings and acts of thuggery threatening the peace of the State, some of which have been given political undertones,” he said.

The Osun State Police Command has announced the arrest of 24 suspected cultists and individuals linked to political thuggery and other violent crimes across the state amid growing security concerns over cult-related killings and violence in recent weeks.

The Commissioner of Police in Osun State, Ibrahim Gotan, disclosed this during a press briefing held on Monday, where he reiterated the command’s determination to tackle criminal activities and guarantee peace before, during and after the forthcoming elections in the state.

Addressing journalists, the police commissioner expressed appreciation to members of the media and other stakeholders for what he described as their unwavering support in combating criminality across Osun State.

According to him, the purpose of the briefing was to keep residents informed about ongoing security efforts by the command, especially in relation to cultism, political violence and related crimes threatening public safety.
