The powerful earthquakes struck the South American country on Wednesday, triggering widespread panic and destruction.
The death toll from the devastating earthquakes that struck Venezuela last week has risen to 1719, according to the President of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez.
Rodríguez disclosed on Monday that thousands of people remain affected by the disaster, while rescue operations continue across several badly hit communities.
According to official figures, at least 22,619 people have been impacted by the deadly tremors, including 5,034 persons who sustained varying degrees of injuries.
