The Services Sector Education and Training Authority has marked the end of Youth Month by celebrating the graduation of 69 aspiring entrepreneurs who completed its New Venture Creation Learnership, reinforcing the organisation's commitment to tackling youth unemployment through skills development and entrepreneurship.
The graduation ceremony, held in partnership with the City of Johannesburg's Department of Social Development and the Phosaane Institute, showcased the impact of equipping young South Africans with practical business skills and entrepreneurial knowledge.
Speaking at the event, Acting Services SETA CEO Sibusiso Dhladhla said the authority is focused on creating meaningful opportunities that empower young people.
"Services SETA is evolving and laying the foundation to ensure that it becomes an organisation that strengthens the youth of the country and alleviates some of the challenges in our society," Dhladhla said. "The role of the organisation includes capacitating and developing the youth."
Of the 98 young people recruited into the programme, 69 successfully completed the learnership, a milestone Dhladhla described as one of the organisation's strongest outcomes.
