Drone operators of the 57th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade named after Otaman Kost Hordiienko have reportedly shot down a Russian Sokol anti-aircraft drone for the first time.

The brigade announced this on Facebook and released corresponding video footage, according to Ukrinform.

“Pilots of the 57th Brigade shot down a new Russian drone using the General Cherry AIR interceptor,” the statement said.

The Russian drone Sokol was developed to counter Ukrainian strike and reconnaissance drones.

Only about a month passed between the drone’s public presentation and its first confirmed downing by Ukrainian forces.
