JOS — The National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, has dismissed reports of a security breach following gunshots heard near the institute late Sunday night, assuring that its facilities, staff and participants remain safe.
The institute said there was no attempt to breach its security perimeter and that all academic and administrative activities were continuing without disruption.
In a statement issued on Monday and signed by the Head of the Public Affairs Department, Dr. Osime Samuel, NIPSS described reports circulating on social media and some mainstream media as inaccurate.
“The Institute wishes to state unequivocally that there was no attempted breach of the Institute’s security perimeter, and all staff, participants and Institute facilities remain safe and secure,” the statement said.
