The Ministry of Economic Affairs yesterday expanded a government-led investment program to help attract more private capital to start-ups by collaborating with venture capital (VC) firms.Under the revised “Corporate Venture Capital Accelerates Innovation and Entrepreneurship Program,” investment commitments from venture capital firms would serve as proof of market viability, allowing the government to focus on start-ups’ technology bases and significantly streamline the review process, Industrial Development Administration Director-General Chiou Chyou-huey (邱求慧) said at a news conference in Taipei.LIMITED UNDERSTANDING
