France is finally breathing again after temperatures fell over the weekend, but the respite from June’s historic heatwave may be short-lived, with predictions of another heatwave next week.

After 10 days of record-breaking temperatures, the heatwave has finally moved east and most of France is on Monday seeing temperatures within seasonal norms.

However the relief could be short lived with another canicule predicted to hit from Tuesday, July 6th.

Weather agency Météo France said that "for the period of July 6th to 14th, a scenario of extreme heat is the most probable.

Temperatures could reach up to 45C.
