Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy on Monday announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in the groundbreaking ceremony for the Sammakka-Sarakka Tribal University in Mulugu later this year, for which substantial funds have been sanctioned.Addressing booth-level leaders in Warangal, he said the Modi government had sanctioned ₹17,000 crore for the development of Warangal and challenged the Congress and BRS parties to an open debate on these achievements.Mr. Reddy said around 90% of the Kazipet Railway Coach Factory has been completed, with production likely to begin by January 2027. Work on a 30-acre railway terminal is expected to commence next month. He also noted that ₹2,909 crore has been sanctioned for the Kazipet–Ballarshah third railway line, while work on the Kazipet–Vizianagaram third line is progressing rapidly. The Warangal airport is also set to become operational soon, he said.Warangal has been allocated one of the seven Mega Textile Parks sanctioned nationwide as part of the Centre’s infrastructure push. In addition, the region has received 77 PM SHRI schools and an MSME Technology Centre. Critical healthcare units, with a total outlay of ₹238 crore, are also under development.The Hyderabad–Warangal and Warangal–Karimnagar national highways are being upgraded to high standards with an allocation of ₹999 crore. About 50% of the Warangal Ring Road project, estimated at ₹500 crore, has been completed while 50 new buses have been introduced for urban transport, he explained.Around 70 projects worth ₹1,380 crore have already been completed, while 40 projects worth ₹414 crore are currently under way to improve basic civic infrastructure. Highlighting benefits to farmers, Mr. Reddy said ₹16,550 crore had been spent on cotton procurement in Warangal this year alone.He also noted that the Centre secured UNESCO World Heritage status for the Ramappa Temple and is fully funding the development of tourist attractions such as Medaram, Mulugu, Laknavaram, and Bogatha Waterfalls.
