RIYADH: Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources processed 763 chemical clearance service requests in May as part of its efforts to facilitate industrial investment and provide support services for the growth and expansion of manufacturing facilities.
The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources' official spokesperson, Jarrah bin Mohammed Al-Jarrah, said the processed requests included 727 applications for the import clearance of non-restricted chemicals and 36 applications for permits to import restricted chemicals, noting that the issued requests comprised 3,016 items.
Al-Jarrah said the chemical clearance service enables industrial investors to apply for a clearance permit or an import or export permit for chemicals used in industrial facilities through the Senaei platform.
He added that the service aims to ensure chemical clearances are granted to industrial establishments through streamlined procedures and in a timely manner, serving investors and facilitating the entry of their materials through ports of entry.
The spokesman stressed the importance of the chemical clearance service in enhancing industrial output by developing, improving, and simplifying the mechanisms for obtaining clearances for chemicals used in production, and by automating the process through the industrial sector's digital services platform, thereby strengthening the delivery of digital services that support industrial investors.
