Toris Specialty Coffee’s design instantly makes you want to settle in with a book. A grass-lined pathway, verandah seating and handmade floor tiles create an earthy warmth that evokes home, comfort and, of course, coffee. The café recently opened in Jubilee Hills.Forest green and mahogany dominate the space. High tiled conical ceilings and a mix of modern and antique furniture with floral upholstery lend it the charm of a Portuguese-style Goan villa. The coffee counter takes centre stage. While the indoor seating can feel a little cramped with 5 tables (big and small) in the space, Toris more than compensates with ample outdoor seating that is well shaded and ventilated. On a rainy day, a coffee and sandwich here might be all the plan you need.

Toris takes pride in a menu that is concise and purposeful. Instead of the usual café staples — pasta, pizza and club sandwiches — it offers Mexican bowls, smoothies, sandos, bagels and salads. The menu rewards diners willing to look beyond the obvious. The café is an ode to founders Mounika Maddukuri and Abhishek Kota’s love for coffee. In fact, the couple often plans their holidays around coffee destinations and cafés.
