Detailed information on Korea's most underappreciated chicken restaurants, chicken specialty shops and chicken-themed local attractions is now available online, boosting the country's gastronomy-focused tourism appeal for international visitors.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs on Monday unveiled the K-Chicken Belt, an online platform featuring 30 destinations across 30 cities and counties nationwide. The featured locations were selected from about 2,700 recommendations submitted by local residents and municipal governments through a public survey conducted in March and April.
The included spots offer Suwon galbi chicken in Gyeonggi Province, Sokcho sweet and crispy fried chicken in Gangwon Province, Andong braised chicken in North Gyeongsang Province and Chuncheon spicy stir-fried chicken in Gangwon Province. The chicken gizzard alley at Daegu Pyeonghwa Market, spicy chicken stew in Taebaek, Gangwon Province, and Haenam’s whole chicken course meal in South Jeolla Province also made the list.
