Both sides will stand down for now and vessels can move freely," the official told The Hill on Sunday, referencing the 14-point MoU signed by both sides on June 17.‌Iran has not commented on the reports that it has agreed to halt strikes.‌The US military said it struck Iran on Friday in retaliation for an Iranian drone attack on a cargo ship in the Strait of Hormuz a day earlier.US forces launched further strikes on Iranian targets on Saturday, prompting Iran to launch strikes on US military assets in Kuwait and Bahrain on Saturday and again on Sunday.Friday's US strikes came shortly after President Donald Trump called the drone attack a "foolish violation of our Ceasefire Agreement" in a Truth Social post. Asked by reporters whether the US would respond to the attack, he said: "You’ll find out."‌The US military carried out airstrikes on Iranian drone and missile storage facilities and coastal radar sites on Friday, US Central Command (CENTCOM) said.CENTCOM said Iranian forces hit the Ever Lovely, a Singapore-flagged ship, with a one-way attack drone as it exited the Strait of Hormuz.The UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) centre said a cargo ship was struck 7.5 nautical miles southeast of Oman's port of Dahit on Thursday.‌The Ever Lovely's owner, Evergreen, said the vessel had been following the UKMTO's recommended route through the strait when it was struck. "All crew members remain safe as does the vessel itself and all cargo," it added.CENCOM said on Saturday that it had carried out further strikes on Iran, and Trump threatened Iran's existence."United States aircraft just struck Iranian missile and drone storage locations, and coastal radar sites, for violating the Cease Fire Agreement, AGAIN!" Trump wrote on Truth Social.‌"It is very possible that they will never learn! If that happens, the Islamic Republic of Iran will no longer exist!"Iran's Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) said its forces fired ballistic missiles and drones at US military facilities in Kuwait and Bahrain on Sunday.Kuwait, which hosts a major US military base, said air defences intercepted Iranian drones and two missiles just after the US strikes in Iran. Bahrain is home to the US Navy’s 5th Fleet. The damaged building was not near its headquarters.Later on Sunday, Qatar said a civilian had been killed and another person was hurt by shrapnel related to "military operations in the area" after a vessel did not return at its scheduled time on Saturday. It did not give details.
