Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said the proposed Delhi-Varanasi High-Speed Rail corridor could reduce Delhi-Lucknow travel time to “2 hours 10 minutes” and connect Jewar to Lucknow in “1 hour 40 minutes” once operational. The 813-kilometre corridor, announced among India’s proposed high-speed rail projects in the Union Budget 2026-27, is expected to improve connectivity across major cities including Noida, Agra, Prayagraj and Varanasi.
