Rugby union, Manu Samoa
Manu Samoa has opened its preparations in South America with a 45-14 warm-up win over Chile XV in Santiago, ahead of its opening match at the World Rugby Nations Cup 2026.
The squad is currently in Chile preparing for the July competition, which will be played in Chile and Uruguay. Manu Samoa is in Pool A and will open its campaign against Hong Kong China on July 5 in Chile.
Lakapi Samoa Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Seumanu Douglas Ngau Chun said the warm-up match was an important part of the team’s build-up, particularly with the squad only coming together last week.
“The warm-up match against Chile provided a valuable opportunity for the coaching group to assess combinations and give the players meaningful game time,” Seumanu said.
