Water no longer flows to the St James spring collection point, with the City set to investigate why the public outlet has stopped receiving water.
The City will launch a fresh investigation into why the St James spring is no longer supplying water to its public collection point, after confirming it is still unclear what has caused the disruption.
The investigation, planned for early July, will involve multiple stakeholders and aims to determine whether there is another explanation for the loss of flow beyond the spring drying up naturally.
According to the City’s mayoral committee member for water and sanitation, Zahid Badroodien, the spring remains a naturally flowing water source.
“The spring water has not been diverted, nor was any work done for the spring water to be diverted elsewhere,” he said.
