Condemning the alleged attack on YSRCP leaders during their visit to Amaravati on Saturday, MLC Botcha Satyanarayana on Sunday alleged that it reflected the deteriorating law and order in the State, and accused the NDA government of suppressing the opposition party to conceal the “irregularities” in the capital city project.Addressing the media here, Mr. Satyanarayana said the YSRCP leaders had visited Amaravati following an invitation from local farmers. He alleged that TDP workers deliberately obstructed the convoy, pelted stones, vandalised vehicles and attempted to assault the leaders.“If the capital project is being executed transparently, why are the TDP leaders opposing the visit of the YSRCP leaders? The government is afraid that financial irregularities will be exposed,” he said.Speaking about the Bhogapuram International Airport, Mr. Satyanarayana alleged that basic facilities such as drinking water and proper road connectivity were not in place. He also objected to the reported decision to accommodate the President in a private hotel during her visit to Visakhapatnam for the convocation of the Central Tribal University despite availability of government guest houses.
