The death of another woman took the toll in the ammonia gas leak at a seafood processing and export facility in Tiruvallur district to 16 on Saturday (June 27, 2026), according to a bulletin issued by the Health Department.The deceased was identified as Kabita Juanga of Odisha.At present, 26 persons – 25 women and one man – are undergoing treatment. Of them, one patient is on ventilator support and nine are receiving nasal oxygen. The condition of 16 patients is stable. So far, a total of 41 persons were discharged after treatment.The mortal remains of 12 persons were airlifted to Odisha and two to Assam. The mortal remains of the other two victims will be transported in the due course of time, once all legal formalities are completed, the bulletin said. Published - June 27, 2026 11:45 pm IST
