Ukrainian strikes targeting Russian logistics in temporarily occupied Crimea are part of a long-term, multi-year operation.
Dmytro Pletenchuk, Spokesperson for the Ukrainian Navy, said this while speaking on national television, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.
"What we are witnessing is another stage of a multi-layered operation. These are not emotional or situational actions, but part of a systematic set of measures that has been underway not for months, but for years. I personally consider the destruction of Russia's naval logistics as the starting point. First came the large landing ships, then the railway ferries, which formed the backbone of Crimea's military logistics, followed by conventional ferries that were also used for these purposes," Pletenchuk said.
He noted that the campaign has also included months of systematic strikes against Russian air defense systems.
According to Pletenchuk, Ukrainian forces continue to target facilities along the so-called "land corridor" that Russia regards as a key logistical achievement linking occupied territories.
