The Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KW-IRS), in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development, has concluded the preliminary stages of the 2026 Tax Club Quiz Competition, with 12 secondary schools qualifying for the semi-final stage.
The preliminary rounds, which ended on Friday, June 26, 2026, began on Tuesday, June 23, after the KW-IRS Tax Club Advocacy Committee (TACAC) conducted a virtual mock test to acquaint participating schools with the online Computer-Based Test (CBT) format introduced in 2024.
A total of 90 schools registered for this year’s competition, while 87 successfully participated in the online preliminary stage.
At the end of the first round, 36 schools advanced to the second round, from which 12 schools emerged as semi-finalists. The qualified schools comprise four from each of the state’s three senatorial districts.
From Kwara Central are: Government Day Secondary School, Oja Gboro; Saint Anthony’s Senior Secondary School; Ebenezer High School; and Ar-Raheem International College.
