The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) has confirmed that a Nigerian national, Jubril Akorede Abdulrahman, who was injured in an explosion at a gas facility in Qatar, has been discharged from hospital and is recovering after receiving medical treatment.

The commission disclosed this in a statement issued on Saturday, expressing relief over Abdulrahman's recovery.

According to the statement signed by NiDCOM's Director of Media, Public Relations and Protocols, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, the explosion occurred at the Barzan Gas Supply Facility in Ras Laffan on the night of Sunday, June 21, 2026

NiDCOM said Abdulrahman was among dozens of workers injured in the explosion but has since been discharged from hospital and is recuperating in accommodation provided by his employer.
