Mahaveer Ashray Hospice, the hospice facility of Cancer Institute (WIA), Adyar, celebrated nine years of service and marked the beginning of its tenth year on its Sriperumbudur campus on Saturday.The celebration is being held in the centenary year of V. Shanta, honouring her vision of compassionate and patient-centred care.According to a press release, it is a 60-bed, stand-alone hospice that provides comprehensive palliative and end-of-life care to patients with advanced cancer free of charge, irrespective of their socio-economic status. Services include round-the-clock nursing care to mindfulness activities and spiritual care.
