Israeli drones struck south Lebanon on Saturday, hours after Israel and Lebanon signed a framework peace agreement in Washington.

Israel continues to occupy large areas of south Lebanon, refusing to withdraw while it considers Hezbollah a threat.

Hezbollah has strongly opposed the agreement, which requires the group to disarm, mobilising supporters to protest in Beirut's southern suburbs.

Lebanon's government hopes the deal will pave the way for reconstruction of the devastated south, with a fundraising conference planned for July.
