Emma Raducanu is once again facing a race against time to be fit for Wimbledon.

The 23-year-old made her breakthrough at SW19 five years ago, reaching the fourth round as a teenager, and achieved the same in 2024.

Only world No 1 Aryna Sabalenka stopped her in a Friday night barnburner last year, and hopes were high coming to Wimbledon after Raducanu reached the final of Queen’s.

But in keeping with the injury-dogged nature of her career thus far, she has not been able to get back on the match court since – and the No 30 seed is in danger of failing to do so for her first-round match against Antonia Ruzic on Monday.

During her quarter-final win over Kamilla Rakhimova at Queen’s, Raducanu slipped on the court and had her thigh strapped.
