A Ukrainian Air Force MiG-29 fighter jet was lost during a combat mission in the Poltava region overnight on June 27, but the pilot successfully ejected.
According to Ukrinform, the Ukrainian Air Force reported this on Telegram.
"We inform you that during the night of June 27, 2026, contact was lost with a Ukrainian Air Force MiG-29 fighter jet that was carrying out a combat mission in the Poltava region. We confirm the loss of the aircraft; however, the Ukrainian pilot successfully ejected, established contact with the search and rescue team, and was promptly transported to a medical facility for examination and the necessary medical assistance," the Air Force said.
The Air Force added that the causes and circumstances of the incident are currently under investigation.
