The “Titan-Barrikady” Federal Research and Production Center, a subsidiary of the Russian state corporation Roscosmos, is a critical component of Russia’s defense industrial base. The full-cycle enterprise specializes in the design and serial production of mobile launchers and transporter-erector-launchers (TELs) for the “Iskander-M” operational-tactical missile system. The facility also manufactures launchers for the “Topol-M” and “Yars” strategic missile systems, as well as large-caliber artillery systems such as the “Msta-B” and “Msta-S” howitzers. The enterprise has been subject to international sanctions by Australia, the EU, Japan, New Zealand, Switzerland, Ukraine, and the US, since the onset of the full-scale invasion. Local Russian authorities acknowledged the attack. Volgograd Region Governor Andrey Bocharov stated that the area was targeted by “high-speed aerial targets,” confirming damage to an industrial enterprise and reporting that 10 individuals sustained injuries. The approach of the projectiles prompted air raid warnings across several Russian regions, including Penza, Samara, Orenburg, and Tatarstan.
