Manchester United’s 18-year-old striker Chido Obi is in loan talks with Bundesliga club FC Köln, as the young forward looks to secure the senior playing time that Old Trafford hasn’t been able to consistently provide.

Who is Chido Obi?

Obi was born on November 29, 2007, in Glostrup, Denmark, which makes him still just 17 for a few more months. He joined Manchester United from Arsenal’s academy ahead of the 2024/25 season on a free transfer. He wears the number 32 shirt at United. His market value is currently pegged at €5 million according to Transfermarkt.

Obi has scored 15 goals in youth competitions this season alone. His senior exposure at United has been limited to eight appearances for the first team last season.

Why Köln and why now?
