Social News Assistant Editor Samantha Bartlett gives her take on the drink10:19, 27 Jun 2026Updated 10:19, 27 Jun 2026I tried viral blue wine and was left startled after the first sipYou've heard of blue skies, seas and blue jeans, but I bet you never thought you'd be drinking blue wine? Well now you can, all thanks to Echo Falls. The new wine that everyone is talking about is Echo Falls Fruit Fusion Blue Raspberry. The wine was launched in March 2026, and rapidly went viral across TikTok and Instagram for its striking, neon-electric blue appearance.‌Rather than a traditional dry wine, it is classified as a fruit fusion/flavoured wine. It targets casual social gatherings, summer BBQs, and cocktail making. Luckily (sort of) for me, I got to try it out for myself, and I have to admit I don't think I'll be doing it again.‌The wine has a super-sweet blue raspberry profile matched with bold berry notes with a sharp and tangy twist.‌On first glance, you think it's going to taste like a blue slush puppie or Blue WKD, however it has a much for syrupy and sharp taste that I wasn't expecting. After I'd had the first sip, I didn't think I could handle much more, however after a few more it did get better, although I still wouldn't call it enjoyable.‌I can see why the drink has gone viral, as it does look very cool in the glass, so I imagine it'd be a hit with Gen Z for social media content. But, sadly I have to say it's a bit style over substance for me and I can't see me taking this to my next BBQ.The manufacturer recommends pouring it over plenty of ice to tame the upfront sweetness, which I didn't actually do, so maybe it taste a bit better this way.‌You can mix it with lemonade, soda water, or prosecco for a vibrant, bubbly summer cocktail, apparently. The wine was initially released as an exclusive to local cash-and-carries and independent convenience stores (like Nisa, Premier, and Go Local), however has since rolled out to major supermarket chains due to massive demand.‌This means fans can go and purchase it from Asda, Sainsbury’s, Morrison’s and Co-op, making it easier than ever to get your hands on a bottle of the blue concoction.Maggie Applegate, Senior Brand Manager at Vinarchy, said: "We know that more people are discovering alcoholic beverages differently - flavour-first, occasion-led and often outside of traditional cues.“Blue Raspberry has already demonstrated that meeting this behaviour head-on gives retailers a tangible opportunity to capture that demand with Echo Falls Fruit Fusion, rather than seeing it play out in other categories.Article continues below"Our customers have been searching for the blue bottle, and we're excited to bring it to the grocery channel so our retail partners can capitalise on this demand."I'm glad many people are like the wine, I'm just sorry to say I'm not one of them.
