Chelsea has officially landed Marco Palestra, the 21-year-old Italian right-back, on a six-year contract running through June 2032 with an option to extend through 2033. The deal, worth approximately €55 million (£47 million or $62 million), represents the first signing under new head coach Xabi Alonso.
Palestra completed his medical and put pen to paper after Chelsea successfully outmaneuvered Inter Milan for his signature.
What Chelsea is getting
Palestra spent the 2025-26 season on loan at Cagliari from Atalanta, and he didn’t exactly fly under the radar. Across 37 appearances, the right-back recorded 1 goal and 4 assists.
He was named Serie A defender of the year. He also won the Frecciarossa award for top speed in Serie A.
