Central Command has released footage documenting a sustained campaign of airstrikes against Iranian military installations, part of an escalating pattern of direct engagement that has unfolded across June 2026.
What happened and when
The sequence of events began on June 5, when US forces intercepted Iranian ballistic missiles and one-way attack drones targeting the Strait of Hormuz. Following those intercepts, US forces struck Iranian radar installations on Goruk and Qeshm Islands.
The situation worsened on June 8 when an American Apache helicopter was shot down. CENTCOM responded the following day, June 9, with strikes on Iranian air defense systems, ground control sites, and surveillance infrastructure positioned near the Strait.
Then came June 10. CENTCOM announced the completion of what it described as self-defense strikes on Iranian military surveillance, communications, and air defense sites. The released footage included Tomahawk cruise missile launches from the USS Michael Murphy, a guided-missile destroyer.
