Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Jacob Misiorowski threw the fastest pitch by a starting pitcher since MLB began tracking such things in 2008.Again.Have you heard this story before? On his third pitch Friday, the 6-foot-7 flamethrower uncorked a 105.5 mph pitch that Chicago Cubs center fielder Pete Crow-Armstrong actually managed to foul off. It was a statement of intent in the first game of a three-game series in Milwaukee.

— MLB (@MLB) June 26, 2026Misiorowski held the Cubs hitless before Seiya Suzuki homered leading off the fifth inning.Misiorowski’s heater at the top of the night broke his own record of 104.5 mph, set two starts prior against the Philadelphia Phillies on June 12. In his last start, on June 19, he threw a 104.2 mph fastball, good for third all-time among starters. Friday’s record-setting pitch against the Cubs was his seventh 104-plus mph pitch in his past three starts.Factor in relievers, however, and Misiorowski takes a back seat (for now) to well-traveled left-hander Aroldis Chapman, who uncorked a 105.8 mph heater in 2024 while he was a member of the Cincinnati Reds. Chapman also has a 105.7 mph pitch on the books while with the Yankees in 2018. Angels right-hander Ben Joyce and Misiorowski are tied at No. 3 on the all-time list at 105.5.
