Manuel Ugarte, Manchester United’s midfield enforcer, was carried off the pitch on a stretcher during a match on June 27, adding another chapter to what’s becoming an uncomfortably familiar injury narrative for the Uruguayan international.

No official medical update has been confirmed by the club.

A pattern that’s hard to ignore

This isn’t Ugarte’s first dance with the physio room. Back in May, the midfielder missed seven days between May 7 and May 13 due to back problems.

Ugarte arrived at Old Trafford from Paris Saint-Germain on August 30, 2024, in a deal worth a base fee of €50 million. That figure could climb to €60 million depending on performance-related add-ons.
