A state of emergency has been declared in the temporarily occupied Crimea and Sevastopol due to a severe power supply crisis.
According to Suspilne Crimea, as reported by Ukrinform, the measure was announced amid ongoing electricity disruptions.
"The power supply situation remains difficult in Crimea, and we hope electricity will be restored in Sevastopol within the next 24 hours. We are introducing a state of emergency. This is necessary so that our businesses can classify certain obligations as force majeure. In addition, residents whose essential household equipment is damaged due to voltage fluctuations will be able to apply to municipal commissions for compensation," said the Russian-installed "governor of Sevastopol," Mikhail Razvozhayev.
The Russian-installed "head of Crimea," Sergey Aksyonov, said the purpose of the decision was to streamline financial, credit, and other contractual obligations in order to simplify compensation procedures.
