The Federal Housing Authority (FHA) has secured prime land in 28 states across the country as part of efforts to expand access to affordable housing, even as it officially broke ground for the 213-unit FHA Green City Estate in Wasa, Abuja.
Ezekiel Nya-Etok, Executive Director, Estate Services, FHA, disclosed this on Wednesday while representing Oyetunde Ojo, managing director and chief executive of the authority, at the groundbreaking ceremony of the estate.
According to him, the acquisition of land across the states forms part of the authority’s strategy to establish a presence in all regions of the country and accelerate housing delivery through strategic partnerships.
“In readiness to have a presence in all the regions of the country, we have visited 28 states where each of the governors has given us prime lands. We have also commenced the process of construction in some of the states, having procured the contracts,” he said.
Nya-Etok noted that the authority had already conducted groundbreaking ceremonies in Akwa Ibom, Abia, Kaduna, and Abeokuta, adding that the Abuja project marks another milestone in the FHA’s nationwide housing expansion drive.
