Passengers at the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) will be getting more options to dine and shop at the airport as restaurants, bars and retail outlets are set to double in the next five years.KIA, which is south India’s busiest airport and the third largest in the country, at present offers many food and beverage (F&B) and retail experience at its two terminals and kerbside. With the airport set for expansion, more outlets would be added.Around metro stations“The Terminal T-2 phase 2 planning is going on, The Quad area is getting re-imagined, the metro rail is coming up, there are experiences planned around the metro station as well. In the next five years we are coming up with more than 200 outlets in the retail and F&B space,” Pravat Paikray, Vice President – Commercial, Bangalore International Airport Ltd., told The Hindu.He added that, at present, there are 200 outlets in both the terminals and many iconic international brands along with local ones would be added in the next five years.“We will be bringing in international iconic brands like we did for T-2 phase 1 along with local brands,” he added.
