The new lane segregation system at the pick-up zone in front of Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) in Bengaluru came into effect on December 11.
As of now, the new measures and overstay charges at the arrival kerbside have been implemented only at Terminal 2 of the airport.
The Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL), which operates KIA, said that the new rules will come into force at Terminal 1 from December 13.
The new lane segregation system at the pick-up zone in front of KIA’s two terminals was supposed to be implemented from December 8, but was deferred by a couple of days due to disruptions of IndiGo flights.
“Following the stabilisation of the recent flight disruptions, KIA will proceed with implementation of the new pickup measures and overstay charges at the arrival kerbsides, effective December 11 at Terminal 2 and December 13 at Terminal 1. These measures are designed to streamline kerbside movement and enhance the overall landside experience for passengers and airport stakeholders, and we appreciate the continued support and cooperation of all partners during this transition,” said a BIAL spokesperson.
