Rylan Clark and his mum Linda will be back on Celebrity Gogglebox tonight, but the presenter has previously explained the sad reason they won't be getting their own TV show12:45, 26 Jun 2026Celebrity Gogglebox is on our TV screens on Channel 4 on Friday, with audiences keenly awaiting to see Rylan Clark and his mum Linda. Since 2019, the mother and son pairing have won over viewers with their charming and witty dynamic, to such an extent that many have demanded the duo be given their own television programme.Despite pleas from fans for the pair to front their own television series, the presenter previously revealed to the Daily Star why this wouldn't be feasible. "We've been offered hundreds of things. We got asked to do a travel show and the chance to go here and go there," he disclosed."It would be hilarious, but she's just not well enough to do it."Regarding their partnership on the programme, he added: "Gogglebox is enough for us. She feels comfortable doing that show because we're just sat in my kitchen."Rylan has been candid about his mum's health struggles, which include her ongoing battle with Crohn's disease.According to the NHS, it is a long-term condition where part of your gut becomes inflamed. While there is currently no cure for the condition, various treatments exist to help prevent or alleviate the symptoms.During his BBC Radio 2 show back in October 2021, Rylan also broke the news of his mother's skin cancer diagnosis to listeners. He disclosed: "So mummy, and it's all fine, she's got skin cancer on her face, but she's absolutely fine."It's not life-threatening and it's just spread a little bit, so we're getting it all cut away."While a show featuring Rylan and Linda may be off the table, fans can catch more of his mum during the star's weekly BBC Radio 2 programme, Rylan on Saturday, where she frequently rings in.She has also made appearances on his YouTube series, Air Rylan.During a recent on-air exchange, the former X Factor star revealed to his mum that he monitors her whereabouts via his mobile phone, following an awkward mix-up.He recalled how she turned up at his home unannounced despite being told to stay away, while he had a guest over.Taken aback to discover he was tracking her, she asked: "Are you serious?", to which he confirmed."I'll have to get that sorted," she said, clearly unimpressed by the idea."No, you f*****g won't," Rylan asserted. "I told you categorically that day, 'Don't come round tomorrow morning, I'm not there', and what did you do?".Article continues below"Yeah, but you was there," Linda responded, to which Rylan reminded her: "Yeah exactly, with someone."In a bid to put his mind at ease, she added: "I wouldn't have come up anyway."Celebrity Gogglebox is on Channel 4 at 9pm on Friday.
