When it is completed, the Maybach Ocean Club—a partnership between Mercedes-Benz Design and German shipbuilder Lloyd Werft Design—will be the “world’s first invitation-only members club at sea.” The 508-foot gigayacht (dubbed Beyond Horizons) will be open to just 300 ultra-high-net-worth individuals and will feature 30 member suites, fine dining experiences, a private gym and other luxe amenities. But the ultimate perk, Matthias Bosse—the ship’s captain and the club’s managing director—told Forbes.com, is access to other elite passengers. “We invited 14 couples from the U.K., Spain, Germany, Switzerland and Holland—real accomplished people, entrepreneurs, lawyers, business people,” Bosse said of a recent test voyage. “They did not know each other. We cruised from Monaco to Sardinia for 10 days. After 10 days, they all left as friends.” Forbes Travel Guide’s Top 9 Marrakech HotelsMandarin Oriental, MarrakechWhether you seek a royal retreat commissioned by the king of Morocco or the contemporary comforts of a desert oasis, Forbes Travel Guide’s list of Star-Rated properties has something for everyone.
