The Nigerian Army has said that its troops of Operation ENDURING PEACE have rescued eight kidnapped victims following a military operation at Pandam Forest in Qua'an Pan Local Government Area of Plateau State, after engaging the suspected kidnappers in a firefight.

According to a statement issued on Friday by the Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force Operation ENDURING PEACE, Captain Chinonso Polycarp Oteh, the operation was carried out by troops of Sector 9 deployed in Namu Town during the early hours of Wednesday, June 24.

Oteh said the operation was carried out following credible intelligence on the presence of kidnappers in the forest.

The military said the offensive operation commenced at about 3:00 a.m. and formed part of its ongoing efforts to restore peace and improve security across the Joint Operations Area.
