Residents of the Imola-Ishaga area in the Fagba axis of Lagos State were forced to wade and swim through floodwaters on Thursday after a heavy downpour submerged roads, homes and business premises, bringing movement in the community to a standstill.
Videos obtained by SaharaReporters showed residents struggling through waist-deep floodwaters that covered the entire Imola-Ishaga Road, while vehicles were unable to pass through the area due to the severity of the flooding.
The floodwater, estimated to be about three feet deep in some sections, completely overwhelmed the roadway, leaving motorists stranded and forcing commuters to seek alternative routes.
