Anthropic’s AI model, referred to in some reports as “Forbidden Fable 5” but officially known as Claude Fable 5, has been at the center of recent controversy after the U.S. government imposed restrictions on its use. The model, part of Anthropic’s Mythos-class, was reportedly involved in a government-led project that identified vulnerabilities in classified systems, prompting a shutdown in certain regions due to national security concerns. This has significantly impacted the availability of Claude Fable 5 for U.S. customers, leading to a notable decrease in market expectations regarding its restoration by early July.
The prediction markets have reacted to these developments, with the likelihood of Claude Fable 5 being restored for U.S. customers by July 1 dropping from 62% to 50.5% in the past 24 hours. This reflects increased uncertainty and concerns over regulatory and security issues that could delay the model’s return. Meanwhile, the probability of its restoration by December 31 remains high at 97.2%, suggesting that long-term expectations are less affected by the current situation.
