The death toll from Thursday’s building collapse in the Satellite Town area of Lagos State has risen to eight, including a baby girl, while emergency responders have rescued 26 persons alive from the rubble as search and rescue operations continue.
Authorities confirmed in an update issued at 4:20pm that a total of 26 victims had been rescued and taken to hospitals for treatment, while eight bodies had been recovered from the collapsed structure.
“As of 4:20pm, a total of 26 persons have been rescued, while eight fatalities have been recorded, including a baby girl. Search and rescue operations remain ongoing. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available,” emergency officials told SaharaReporters .
