The additional €40 million that Finland has decided to allocate to the PURL initiative will be used to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense capabilities.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Yuliia Svyrydenko announced this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.

“These funds will reinforce our air defense system and, accordingly, help protect people from Russia’s criminal attacks, including ballistic missile strikes,” Svyrydenko said.

She thanked the Finnish government and personally Prime Minister Petteri Orpo for the decision to provide additional funding for the PURL initiative.

“Finland has stood alongside Ukraine since the first day of the full-scale invasion,” she noted.
