Business confidence across Taiwan’s manufacturing, services and construction sectors rose last month, reaching multiyear highs as an artificial intelligence (AI) boom continued to power exports, investment and domestic demand, a survey released yesterday by the Taiwan Institute of Economic Research (TIER, 台經院) showed.The findings suggest that Taiwan’s AI-driven expansion is broadening and supporting business sentiment despite lingering external risks, the Taipei-based institute said.The manufacturing business climate gauge rose for a second consecutive month to 99.58 from a revised 96.92 in April, the highest level since June 2024, the institute said.
