Despite the Informatics Services Corporation’s announcement that disruptions in the banking network’s card-based services had been resolved, user reports on Thursday indicate that some issues affecting remote banking services continue to persist.
Investigations reveal that the majority of the ongoing disruptions are occurring across banking applications and mobile banking platforms, complicating users’ access to services such as fund transfers, bill payments, and other online transactions.
The recent disruptions occurred in the wake of a cyberattack targeting banking infrastructure. Following the attack, the Informatics Services Corporation imposed restrictions on card-based services to prevent potential exploitation and safeguard customer data. Although the corporation declared that card-based services had returned to normal, field reports indicate that issues with online services continue.
Following the disruptions at Bank Melli, Bank Tejarat, and Bank Saderat, a subsequent surge in transaction volumes at other banks triggered temporary disruptions across those institutions as well. Although the banking network has become more stable compared to the initial days, some customers still complain of slow performance, frequent outages, and disruptions in accessing remote services.
