Adani Airports to develop aerocities in the six places where it operates its hubsNEW DELHI: Adani Airports will invest Rs 20,000 crore in developing aerocities in the six places where it operates the hubs - Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Jaipur and Guwahati. The phase I of this monetisation of land bank at this capex will see 2.2 crore square feet being developed cross these six places. The development will span over 655 acres in these five states, including nearly 440 acres in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. The proposed “integrated airport cities” will have hospitality, retail, entertainment, convention and commercial infrastructure within walkable urban districts.Adani Airport Holdings Ltd (AAHL) director Jeet Adani said: “Around the world, the most successful airport districts have become centres of commerce, tourism and urban growth. Our objective is to create vibrant districts that combine connectivity with experience, generating economic activity, employment and long-term value for the communities around them,” Jeet Adani added.India’s largest private airport operator, AAHL manages eight airports, including Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Mangaluru, Jaipur, Guwahati, Thiruvananthapuram and the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport.AAHL has signed hotel management agreements with IHG Hotels & Resorts for five luxury and premium hotels. The company says it is engaging with leading domestic and international partners across hospitality, food and beverage, retail and entertainment.
