Adani Airport City Limited (AACL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL), has unveiled plans to develop integrated airport cities across its network of airports, with an initial investment of more than ₹20,000 crore.The first phase of the programme will see the development of around 22 million sq ft of hospitality, retail, entertainment, convention and commercial infrastructure across airports in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Jaipur and Guwahati.The airport-city developments will be built on a land bank of more than 655 acre spread across six airports in five States. Mumbai and Navi Mumbai account for nearly 440 acre of the total land parcel and will attract close to 70% of the planned investment. According to the company, the projects are being designed as integrated and walkable urban districts that seamlessly connect airport terminals with metro and city transport networks. The developments will bring together hotels, office spaces, retail outlets, dining destinations, entertainment venues and convention facilities.Jeet Adani, Director, AAHL said that the initiative draws inspiration from global airport-city models such as Singapore’s Changi, Dubai International, Amsterdam Schiphol and Seoul Incheon.
