Passengers reportedly helped restrain the pilot, who one witness described as appearing to suffer a seizure, after the plane swerved unexpectedly. A flight attendant removed the pilot from the cockpit, and several passengers used their seat belts to help keep him still for approximately 40 minutes. The first officer successfully took control of the aircraft and safely landed Flight AC7664, carrying 61 passengers, in Boston at 1:37 p.m. local time. Emergency services met the plane, and the captain was transported to Mass General Hospital, though Air Canada has not confirmed the nature of the medical issue or his current condition.
