At the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC‑2026) in Gdańsk, Ukraine and the Netherlands signed a Roadmap for cooperation in the energy sector.
According to Ukrinform, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal reported the agreement on Telegram.
“On the sidelines of URC‑2026 in Gdańsk, together with Sjoerd Sjoerdsma, Minister of Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation of the Netherlands, we signed a Roadmap for Energy Cooperation between our countries. It focuses primarily on coordinating efforts to prepare Ukraine for the 2026/2027 heating season, including identifying and accelerating the procurement of critically needed equipment,” Shmyhal wrote.

The Netherlands will provide €178 million to help Ukraine prepare for winter and develop distributed generation, as well as transfer decommissioned gas turbines this autumn. The two sides will also work together to assess and mobilize equipment from decommissioned Dutch power plants to build reserves and restore damaged energy facilities in Ukraine.
